4 Goth party starters

How do you start a Dark Energy party right? We asked resident DJ Nancy Cheng for some recent set openers.

Terrorism, "Scorched Earth Coalition"

From a cassette compilation titled "Civic Occult Biology" (you can hear the whole thing on YouTube), static noise that sets the stage for nearly anything.

Body of Light, "Watch Your Back" and "To Destroy Sin"

It only makes sense that siblings Alexander and Andrew Jarson, who make music as droning, heavy and determinedly dark as Body of Light's, would come from sunny, conservative Arizona. Both of these tracks, from 2013 and 2014, respectively, come from cassette releases.

G Tom Mac, "Cry Little Sister" (Slntpl Remix)

The original was on the soundtrack for the cult 1987 vampire film "The Lost Boys" — what better pedigree could you ask for?
