A 5-year-old boy who was pulled from the water at a Woodbury park has died, a news release from the Police Department said Sunday.

Kendrick Jordan Jr. of St. Paul Park went missing Saturday afternoon at Carver Lake Park.

A neighbor who was watching the child discovered he was gone. Police were called about 4:30 p.m.

A group of 30 to 50 people formed a human chain, combing the beach and water for the boy, said Sgt. Jason Posel of the Woodbury Police Department.

The boy was found underwater and paramedics performed CPR on him but he was unresponsive, police said. He was taken to Regions Hospital.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner will do a full autopsy.

Carver Lake Park has a swimming beach but does not have a lifeguard on duty, according to the city's website.
