This is the fourth time the U.S. Women's Open has been held in California, and the first time at a course previously used for the men's U.S. Open. Notes: Inbee Park will try to become the seventh player with at least three Women's Open titles. She is the only player in the past 14 years to win the Open multiple times. … Brittany Lang won in 2016 in a playoff at CordeValle, the last time it was held in California. … This is the 20-year anniversary of Karrie Webb winning at Pine Needles, the last time a player won the Open back-to-back. … Cristie Kerr received a special exemption. This is her 26th appearance in the tournament and 24th in a row. … Michelle Wie West, the 2014 champion, is set to play her first Open in three years.
