A big birthday bass and other Trophy Tales
Steph Lundorff, Roseville • 19-inch smallmouth bass • Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness
Lundorff, above, landed this catch when it bit on a 4-inch wacky-rigged Senko. The catch, the scenery and the hat made for a memorable birthday for Lundorff.
FIRST TIME'S A CHARM
Max Bortnem, 15, of Minnetrista, caught a 47-inch muskie — his first muskie — on Lake of the Woods in a single cast with a white and silver spinnerbait.
TEAMWORK
Hayden Magle, left, Jesse Smith, center, and Sarah Warner, of Ramsey, displayed the 50-pound, 66-inch sturgeon caught from the bank of the St. Croix River in May using a worm. Garon Smith, who helped reel it in, took the photo.
TROPHY TALES To be considered for our fishing page, e-mail your photo and story to fishphoto@startribune.com. Identify anglers and where they live, and include a brief tale, including where and how it was caught.
