Address: 1708 West Creek Lane, Chaska

Type: Industrial

Size: 52,350 square feet

Developer: Stream Data Centers

Architect: Corgan Architecture

Details: Dallas-based Stream Data Centers is moving ahead with the construction of a second building at the West Creek Corporate Center after signing tenant U.S. Bancorp.

The facility is to be built on a 5.4-acre lot south of Stream Data's existing 75,675-square-foot Data Center 1 at West Creek. The company in June announced an unnamed anchor tenant had leased the third data hall at Data Center 1, which is capable of providing 1 megawatt of "critical power load" to its servers.

UnitedHealth Group also has a 251,000-square-foot data center in the same business park.

Stream Data Center 2, which will cost $250 million to construct, will be 52,350 square feet, including a 10,471-square-foot office for U.S. Bank and two data halls. An 11,120-square-foot utility yard is to be built on the west side of the building. Also in the plans are provisions for a future building expansion of 51,100 square feet, which could accommodate two more data halls.

The building's exterior materials palette includes glass, brick, architectural metal panels, natural stone, copper and textured precast concrete panels.

The Stream Data project, which received a $548,000, 20-year city tax abatement, is scheduled to break ground in spring, with completion set for early 2018.
