All-Minnesota Boys Wrestler of the Year
St. Michael-Albertville’s Landon Robideau
Robideau set state records for consecutive victories and career takedowns while winning his fourth consecutive state title.
There were milestones aplenty for St. Michael-Albertville senior Landon Robideau to chase this season.
In his sights were:
- State and possible national records for takedowns in
a single season.
- The state record for consecutive victories.
- A fourth straight individual championship.
- Moving up on the state career victories list.
All were lofty goals worthy of a wrestler of Robideau’s stature and national reputation. While Robideau doesn’t deny setting records is a strong motivator, his primary goal was much more magnanimous. He thrives on guiding and helping develop and inspire younger wrestlers.
In both cases, Robideau achieved the goals he was reaching for, which is why he is the obvious choice for the All-Minnesota Boys Wrestler of the Year.
At the state tournament, he set the Minnesota high school wrestling record for consecutive victories and moved into second place on the state’s career victories table with 283, three shy of Destin McCauley’s record 286 set in 2011.
Robideau has 188 consecutive victories; his last loss came during his freshman year. He also set a state record for takedowns in a single season with 605, which may also be a national record based on the most recent information available.
Wrestling at 160 pounds, Robideau won his fourth consecutive state championship, becoming just the 29th wrestler in state history to win four or more individual titles.
Accolades aside, Robideau is more proud of what he contributed to St. Michael-Albertville’s wrestling program.

“Going back this year, I respected all of the other wrestlers, but I thought I could win again pretty easily,” Robideau said. “But it doesn’t mean as much compared to helping get the team ready. It was very important to help the younger guys and show them how to do things and get ready.”
The Knights were in the Class 3A team championship match in all five years of Robideau’s high school career. “And we won three times,” he said. “I’m pretty happy with that.”
St. Michael-Albertville won the 2025 team title to cap a 27-0 season.
Robideau recently traveled to Philadelphia to attend the NCAA Division I wrestling championships to support Oklahoma State, where he will wrestle next in college. He plans to leave for Stillwater, Okla., in April to get a jump on his collegiate career.
Oklahoma State, coached by Olympic superstar David Taylor, has the most national championships of any D-I program. Robideau is taking aim at a future filled with national titles, world championships and even Olympic gold.
When his competitive days are over, he hopes he can return to Minnesota and open a wrestling school.
“I love Minnesota. I love St. Michael-Albertville. I want to give something back,” he said.
