Meet the 2025 Star Tribune All-Minnesota high school girls hockey team

Here are our top 25 girls hockey players from all across Minnesota.

Tomorrow, the girls hockey state tournament begins in St. Paul. Today, you get to meet the 2025 All-Minnesota team.

The Minnesota Star Tribune chose 25 top players to name to its All-Minnesota team, with selections based on individual success and input from coaches from various conferences and classes. Players are listed in alphabetical order, with statistics as of Feb. 10.

  • Alida Ahern

    South St. Paul

    Senior — Forward

    Ahern is feared for her ability to uncork a heavy shot, one that produced a team-best 29 goals. College plan: Undecided.

  • Mercury Bischoff

    Grand Rapids/Greenway

    Senior — Forward

    She saved the best for last in a decorated career with a 56-goal season. College plan: Minnesota State Mankato.

  • Katy Comstock

    Warroad

    Senior — Defender

    Comstock racked up 28 helpers to propel the three-time defending Class 1A champs. College plan: Undecided.

  • Bella Finnegan

    Minnetonka

    Senior — Defender

    Finnegan fits the mold of grit-first for the No. 1-ranked Skippers this season. She added nine goals and 20 assists as well. College plan: Harvard.

  • Alaina Gnetz

    Woodbury

    Junior — Forward

    Gnetz has led the charge for surprising Woodbury with 33 goals. College plan: Minnesota Duluth.

  • Layla Hemp

    Minnetonka

    Senior — Goaltender

    A picky puck inspector who sent back untold amounts of defects, Hemp won 15 games and allowed a 0.91 goals against average. She is our 2025 All-Minnesota Player of the Year. College plan: Minnesota.

  • Whitney Horton

    Edina

    Senior — Forward

    Horton capped her standout career with 15 goals and an equal amount of assists for the defending Class 2A champs. College plan: University of St. Thomas.

  • Ida Huber

    Dodge County

    Senior — Goaltender

    Her deft glove hand has been the final resting place for countless pucks. Huber allowed only 20 goals in 25 games. College plan: Long Island University.

  • Mackenzie Jones

    Andover

    Senior — Defender

    Jones has a heavy, hard shot, and she is a terrific passer whose 24 assists lead the team. College plan: Wisconsin.

  • Olivia Kortan

    Moorhead

    Senior — Forward

    With her stellar vision and playmaking ability, Kortan is the leader among Spuds in goals (20) and assists (24). College plan: undecided.

  • Teagan Kulenkamp

    Centennial/Spring Lake Park

    Senior — Forward

    Kulenkamp is noted for her aggressive style — a style that produced 26 goals (tied for first on the team) and 38 assists. College plan: St. Thomas.

  • Zoe Lopez

    Orono

    Senior — Forward

    Perhaps the state’s top power forward, Lopez posted 31 goals and 17 assists for the Spartans. College plan: Minnesota State Mankato.

  • Lauren Mack

    Minnetonka

    Senior — Forward

    Minnetonka’s Mack has a gritty playing style, and she added 13 goals and 25 assists for good measure. College plan: Providence.

  • Brooklyn Mauch

    Marshall

    Sophomore — Forward

    One of two underclassmen on the All-Minnesota Team, Mauch leads the surprising Tigers with 45 goals and 35 assists. College plan: undecided.

  • Makayla Moran

    Apple Valley

    Senior — Forward

    Perhaps the state’s most elusive player, Moran made things happen with the puck. She scored 38 goals and added 24 assists. College plan: Minnesota State Mankato.

  • Lorelai Nelson

    Edina

    Junior — Forward

    Speed for days with hands to match, Nelson delivered 14 goals and 21 assists to the Hornets’ attack. College plan: Penn State.

  • Lily Pachl

    South St. Paul

    Senior — Defender

    To cap her decorated career, Pachl scored 19 goals and added 21 assists. The senior is a heady player who is seldom out of position. College plan: Harvard.

  • Emily Pohl

    Hill-Murray

    Sophomore — Forward

    Pohl led her team with 34 goals and finished second on the team with 26 assists. College plan: undecided.

  • Macy Rasmussen

    Orono

    Senior — Forward

    Respected for her aggressive style, Rasmussen tallied 14 goals and 18 assists for one of the top Class A teams in the state. College plan: Ohio State.

  • Payton Remick

    Roseau

    Senior — Forward

    Remick led the Rams in goals (24) and assists (32) heading to the Section 8 final against Moorhead. College plan: St. Cloud State.

  • Kaydence Roeske

    River Lakes

    Senior — Goaltender

    A former teammate said of Roeske: "She is pretty optimistic. She always looks to do better on the next play. I can see her going places." She won 13 games this season, four by shutout. College plan: Minnesota State Mankato.

  • Campbell Rucinski

    Benilde-St. Margaret’s

    Senior — Defender

    Rucinski posted 14 goals and 21 assists this season while anchoring the defensive end for the Red Knights. College plan: Maine.

  • Josie Skoogman

    Hill-Murray

    Senior — Defender

    Skoogman took great care of her defensive responsibilities while chipping in three goals and 13 assists. College plan: St. Thomas.

  • Sophie Stramel

    Rosemount

    Senior — Forward

    Stramel led the Irish to the Class 2A, Section 3 final with team highs in goals (27) and assists (28). College plan: Minnesota State Mankato.

  • Kaia Weiland

    Centennial/Spring Lake Park

    Sophomore — Goaltender

    The puck stopped with Weiland throughout a season in which the Cougars ranked among the state’s best teams. She earned 17 victories by permitting only 1.47 goals per game while stopping 94% of shots faced. College plan: undecided.
