The three judges in the Senate election trial reviewed nearly 400 rejected absentee ballots Monday; today, those that the panel says were wrongly set aside will be opened and counted. That is unlikely to be the end of the 5-month-old election dispute between DFLer Al Franken and Republican Norm Coleman, however.
• Loose ends in the trial: Coleman's campaign contends that a number of ballots were double-counted in mostly DFL precincts. The campaign also has challenged the use of Election Day machine-count totals for a Minneapolis precinct where 132 ballots couldn't be found during the hand recount.
• Appeal: Coleman has said he will appeal if he loses the election trial.
