'Teenage Elixir'

The prolific local artists behind the Bloodtime collaboration, Justin James Sehorn and Jesse Draxler, have rounded up their cohorts for this group show. Represented are some of the best under-the-radar artists in town: Garrett Perry, who creates abstracted portraiture that is equal parts pop art and Picasso; Nick Howard, whose pen-and-ink drawings are delightfully creepy, and Mark Vomit, whose digital collage and stencil art offers socio-political commentary with a satirical bent. Then, of course, there are Draxler and Sehorn, provocative digital collage artists in their own right. The opening night reception will include appropriately collage-like, experimental music from electronic acts Elite Gymnastics and Dada Trash Collage, with a DJ set from Malcolm Alchemy. Opening reception 7 p.m.-midnight Sat 1/8, $5 or free before 8 p.m. More event details.

Closing Saturday: 'Art of the Native Americans: Thaw Collection'

Spanning the North American continent from what is now southern Florida to the frozen Arctic, American Indian cultures adapted to dramatically different climates, vegetation and geographic features. Their clothing, furnishings and rituals reflected their environments as seen in the remarkable "Thaw Collection," on view just one more weekend. Items span 2,000 years of native culture and represent an astonishing variety of designs executed with consummate skill. Don't miss it. More event details.

FILE -- A rent deposit slot at an apartment complex in Tucker, Ga., on July 21, 2020. As an eviction crisis has seemed increasingly likely this summer, everyone in the housing market has made the same plea to Washington: Send money — lots of it — that would keep renters in their homes and landlords afloat.
