TPT wins two Emmys for 'Dragonfly TV'

June 18, 2008 at 1:24AM

"Dragonfly TV," the locally produced science show for kids, came up with the right formula to win two Daytime Emmy Awards.

The Emmys -- for single-camera editing (Ezra Gold, Scott Skaja, Steve Fischer, Brad Keely and Todd Grabe) and single -camera photography (Michael Phillips) -- were the first in the program's six-year history. They were presented at a ceremony last weekend in New York.

Twin Cities Public Television, which produces the show, had previous Emmy success with the science-related series "Newton's Apple."

"It is wonderful that our local talent is being recognized as the best in the nation and that we are inspiring children to discover the world around them," said TPT President Jim Pagliarini.

The major Daytime Emmys will be given out Friday and will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on KSTP, Channel 5.
