Arts briefs: Bubble Wonders to be featured at Washington County libraries
For more than 30 years he has been educating and entertaining with bubble tricks, including creating caterpillars, volcanoes, merry-go-rounds, bubbles inside bubbles and "kid-in-a-bubble."
The hourlong Bubble Wonders show will be at:
• 10 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Park Grove Library, 7900 Hemingway Ave. S., Cottage Grove;
• 1 p.m. Saturday at R.H. Stafford Library, 8595 Central Park Place, Woodbury;
• 4 p.m. Saturday at Stillwater Public Library, 224 Third St. N., Stillwater; and
• 1:30 p.m. Sunday, March 29, at Hardwood Creek Library, 19955 Forest Road N., Forest Lake.

Woodbury
City holds two hunts for eggs this week
The city of Woodbury is hosting two egg hunts this week, one of them "candy-free."
Both will be held rain or shine, and kids must be accompanied by an adult. They take place Friday, March 27, at Carver Lake Park.
The "Old-Fashioned Egg Hunt" is free and has different age groups hunting for specific colored eggs with small trinkets and prizes inside. Bring your own bucket. It's for ages 3-7, and starts at 6:30 p.m.
The "Flashlight Egg Hunt" happens as darkness falls. Bring your flashlight and bucket and dress for the weather as you search for eggs in the dark. Most eggs contain candy prizes, but some have messages to claim a prize. This hunt is for ages 6-13 and starts at 8 p.m.
The cost for the flashlight hunt is $3 per child if preregistered before 3 p.m. on March 27, $5 at the event.

Mozart's 'Requiem' on tap in Hudson
The Phipps Oratorio Society performs Mozart's Requiem, on Sunday, March 29, at 2 p.m. at the Phipps Center for the Arts in Hudson, Wis.
The chorus will be joined by a quartet of soloists whose participation is made possible by the Donna W. Petersen Fund for Music: soprano Teresa Tierney, mezzo-soprano Nicole Warner, tenor Roy Heilman, and baritone Aaron Engebreth.
Accompaniment on the center's new Steinway grand piano will be Heather Tank and Ezelda Yacoub Hasapopoulos.

'Murder & mayhem' specialist to speak
Award-winning crime writer David Housewright will speak at the Lake Elmo Public Library this week.
He will appear on Thursday, March 26 at 6:30 p.m. to discuss his 2014 book, "The Devil May Care".
Housewright is president of the Private Eye Writers of America and author of the Rushmore McKenzie and Holland Taylor novels. He won an Edgar Award and is a three time Minnesota Book Award winning author.
