Chef Ryan Aberle, formerly of Ringo.

Restaurateur Jim Ringo just announced a change at the top at his Ringo: Chef Ryan Aberle is out, and sous chef David Bonilla has been promoted to replace his former boss. Actually, what Ringo wrote, via email, is that Aberle "has resigned effective immediately to pursue other career opportunities."

(Click here for my recent review of the restaurant).

Bonilla has cooked in Los Angeles for a number of years, including stints in Wolfgang Puck's culinary empire. Aberle opened the restaurant in April after several years as executive chef at Northcoast in Wayzata and a long tenure working around the country for Restaurants Unlimited, the company behind Kincaid's and Palomino. Ringo is the first restaurant for Ringo, a former Cargill executive; he opened Forum, in the dazzling Forum Cafeteria space in downtown Minneapolis, shortly after launching Ringo.
