Atlanta drafts Lynx's Mann

The expansion Atlanta Dream selected Lynx forward Kristen Mann in Wednesday's 2008 WNBA expansion draft. Last season Mann averaged a career-best 7.6 points and 3.6 rebounds. She was a three-year WNBA veteran, selected by the Lynx in the first round (11th overall) in the 2005 WNBA draft.

Woog given amateur hockey award Former Gophers hockey coach Doug Woog has been named the winner of John MacInnes Award, presented by the American Hockey Coaches Association to an individual showing great concern for amateur and youth hockey.

Etc. • Shari Eckstrom of Brooklyn Park, Cat Perkhill of Apple Valley, Josie Solie of Mahtomedi and Tamara Strahota of Eagan will play soccer for the Gophers as part of their 2008 recruiting class.

• The Twins announced the April 27 game against the Texas Rangers has been changed from 2:05 p.m. to 1:05.
