ATV rollover kills husband, injures wife in northern Minnesota

The passenger was airlifted to a hospital in Fargo, North Dakota.

A man died after an ATV he was driving entered a ditch and rolled over on Monday.

Edward Halvorson, 75, of Fosston was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Polk County Sheriff's Office news release. Deputies responded to a report of an ATV rollover along SE 345th Avenue, near Fosston in northern Minnesota at approximately 7 a.m.

The ATV was traveling north on 345th Avenue when it entered a ditch on the west side of the road and overturned. Halvorson was operating the machine at the time of the rollover.

His wife and passenger Judith Halvorson, 71, of Fosston was transported to a Fosston hospital and later airlifted to a hospital in Fargo.

The Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident.
