Authorities on Wednesday identified the man who was fatally stabbed over the weekend at a homeless encampment in Minneapolis.

Sedric L. Dorman, 38, of Minneapolis died from multiple stab wounds early Sunday afternoon at Minnehaha Regional Park.

Dorman's body was found in a tent at the park in the 4900 block of S. Minnehaha Park Drive.

The dwindling population in the last of the homeless encampments in a city park has been given a limited amount of time to pack up as the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board clears the site.

As of Tuesday, eight people were living there, a park board spokeswoman said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the killing to call the homicide unit at 612-673-2941 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
