Authorities seize more than 130 dogs, puppies after executing search warrant in Cass County

PINE RIVER, Minn. — Authorities have seized more than 130 dogs and puppies after executing a search warrant in northern Minnesota.

Cass County Sheriff Tom Burch says his office executed the search warrant Tuesday in the City of Pine River as part of an investigation into animal cruelty.

Burch says authorities seized 102 dogs and 29 puppies.

The Animal Humane Society, the Pine River Police Department and the Heartland Animal Rescue Team assisted in the search.

The investigation continues pending formal charges.
