Bachmann awaits 'silent support' in Iowa

It's down to the precinct captains now

Presidential candidate Michele Bachmann, in her last push before tonight's Iowa caucuses, said she expects the help of pastors and their congregations to provide the "silent support" she needs to beat low expectations. Meanwhile, leaving no detail to chance, Bachmann's caucus proxies, like their counterparts in other campaigns, will rely on campaign scripts to make their final pitches to voters. The New York Times, which has been collecting advance copies of the pitches, has this rendition of the Bachmann line: It starts: "After four years of Jimmy Carter's failed liberal economic policies, Ronald Reagan famously asked are we better off than we were four years ago. Today our country is even more in trouble and sadly the answer today to Reagan's question is that we are even worse off under Barack Obamba…" The appeal makes note that the Minnesota Republican started the Tea Party Caucus in Congress, and that she pledges to "dismantle (Obama's) radical socialist agenda."
