Bison players braced for early playoff start

December 14, 2013 at 4:17AM

FARGO, N.D. – North Dakota State football players are planning the same pregame routine they have followed for all home games this season, except this time they will be gathering for breakfast instead of brunch.

Kickoff for Saturday's Football Championship Subdivision quarterfinal playoff game against Coastal Carolina is 11 a.m., in order to accommodate television coverage.

The top-seeded and undefeated Bison have scheduled their pre-game meal for 7:15 a.m.

NDSU wide receiver Zach Vraa says the morning start is "going to be different" for the players, but many of them are used to getting up early to attend classes.

This is NDSU's earliest kickoff since an 11 a.m. game at Minnesota in 2007. The Bison won 27-21.
