Sad news regarding Blue Point Restaurant & Oyster Bar: Both locations are closing. Thursday night.

The news was posted on the restaurants' Facebook page on Thursday evening. The Wayzata location (pictured, above, in a 2004 Star Tribune file photo) announced:

"Friends, the rumors are true. After nearly three decades of bringing you the Twin Cities' freshest seafood, we will be closing for business. Stop in tonight -- our last night -- for a martini, your favorite entree, or for one last bottle of wine in the courtyard. Thanks for the memories, and thank you for your patronage."

As for the restaurant's Bloomington location, the message was:

"Beloved patrons: Regretfully, Blue Point Restaurant, Bloomington will be closing for business. Join us for our last night tonight! Thank you for your support over the last four and half years."
