Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater left Sunday's game against St. Louis with 13:36 remaining in the fourth quarter after taking a hit to the head. He was taken to the locker room and eventually ruled out with a concussion.

Rams cornerback Lamarcus Joyner threw his left elbow into Bridgewater as he slid following a five-yard run to the Vikings' 24-yard line.

The cheap shot drew an unnecessary roughness penalty and left Bridgewater briefly motionless on the turf. He was slow to get up and was helped off the field with the Vikings lead 18-15.

Bridgewater was 13-for-21 with 144 yards and one interception. He ran three times for 17 yards and one touchdown.

Backup quarterback Shaun Hill replaced Bridgewater on the drive and the Vikings would eventually punt.
