Inside Kelliher and Rybak rooms: food, computers, humidity

April 24, 2010 at 7:19PM

The digs for Margaret Anderson Kelliher and R.T. Rybak's gubernatorial campaigns at the Duluth DFL convention don't have much to recommend them -- they're barely converted locker rooms.

Inside they're humid, a bit shabby and buzzing.

Both rooms, just off the floor of the convention hall, have multiple computers at work to track the coming vote and persuade delegates with lit pieces and electronic messages.

Almost as importantly, they've got a store of food -- apples in both Rybak and Kelliher's rooms, chips in Rybak's and peanut butter and jelly in Kelliher's and other sustenance to get staffers and volunteers through what may be a long night, into dawn, of balloting.
