Ruffed Grouse season
• Ruffed grouse is Minnesota's most popular upland game bird.
• Hunters last year harvested 301,000 ruffies, a 4 percent increase over 2013. Hunters averaged 3.6 birds apiece.
• The DNR offers 600 miles of hunter walking trails and 40 designated grouse management areas.
• Shooting hours are a half-hour before sunrise to sunset; bag limit is five daily, 10 in possession.
