Clemmensen perfect again • NEW JERSEY 1, BOSTON 0: Devils goalie Scott Clemmensen had his second consecutive shutout Friday night at Newark, N.J., after going nearly five years in the NHL without one. Bryce Salvador scored his first goal in 22 games for New Jersey.

• BUFFALO 6, SAN JOSE 5 (SO): Derek Roy scored the decisive shootout goal and had a goal and an assist in regulation in the Sabres' victory over the Sharks in Buffalo. Jason Pominville forced extra time by scoring with four seconds left in the third period.

• MONTREAL 4, COLORADO 2: Andrei Kostitsyn scored the tiebreaking goal with 2:16 remaining, and the Canadiens ended a seven-game road losing streak with a victory over the Avalanche at Denver.

• COLUMBUS 3, DETROIT 2: Jason Williams scored on his former team with 6:55 to go to help the Blue Jackets end the visiting Red Wings' winning streak at six games.

• FLORIDA 2, N.Y. RANGERS 1 (SO): Richard Zednik scored the only goal in the shootout, and Tomas Vokoun stopped all four Rangers attempts in the surging Panthers' victory in Sunrise, Fla.

• ST. LOUIS 1, CHICAGO 0: Brad Boyes scored early in the third period on a 4-on-3 power play for the host Blues against the Blackhawks.

• DALLAS 2, VANCOUVER 1: Joel Lundqvist gave the host Stars the lead for good with his first goal of the season, and Marty Turco made 32 saves.

NOTES

• The Sabres and Sharks observed a moment of silence before Friday night's opening faceoff to pay tribute to the 50 people killed when a commuter plane crashed Thursday night near Buffalo.
