A St. Paul man and his girlfriend have been charged in connection with the shooting death last September of a 24-year-old man in the city's Dayton's Bluff neighborhood.
Couple charged in St. Paul shooting death
Authorities say Adrian R. Flowers, 22, fatally shot Dekoda M. Galtney in the chest as Galtney got out of a car near the corner of Fourth Street E. and Bates Avenue on Sept. 28.
A witness who had been riding with Galtney in a Chevrolet Impala said that the Impala's occupants had been in an altercation earlier that day with Flowers and others.
No details were given about the nature of the altercation in a Ramsey County District Court complaint charging Flowers with second-degree murder.
His girlfriend, Jade A. Larson, 19, of North St. Paul, also was charged Monday with aiding an offender. She allegedly lied to police about Flowers' identity and phone number, as well as the number of the Inver Grove Heights apartment where the couple lived at the time.
The two were arrested Saturday in a Bloomington hotel room after information about their whereabouts was given to members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force and the St. Paul police homicide unit, authorities say.
Both are scheduled to make their first court appearances Tuesday. Flowers, who was uncooperative with police when an investigator tried to interview him, was jailed in lieu of $500,000 bail. Larson is being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
