In Monday's crash, John Moller, 60, was driving east on Hwy. 23 near Brook Park in Pine County about 5 p.m. when a driver coming west crossed the centerline and hit his vehicle, the State Patrol said. Moller died at the scene.
The westbound driver, identified as Dermont Wester, 20, of Cohasset, Minn., was seriously injured. He was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale.
In Carlton County, 16-year-old Nathan Gould died at Essentia Hospital in Duluth of injuries he suffered in a Friday crash.
Gould was driving eastbound on County Road 1 near Leimer Road in Silver Brook Township when he lost control of his vehicle as he rounded a curve about 12:15 p.m. His vehicle collided with a westbound pickup driven by Julie Jacobson, 29, of Moose Lake, who suffered minor injuries.
The road was icy and snow-covered at the time, and is believed to be a factor in the crash, Sgt. Doug Juntunen said.
The governor said it may be 2027 or 2028 by the time the market catches up to demand.
