Music festival Saturday at Spring Lake reserve
Dakota County arts briefs: Three bands will play at Spring Lake music fest near Hastings
Two community bands and one bluegrass group will perform next Saturday during the Spring Lake Park Reserve Music Festival near Hastings.
Shotgun Johnson and the Mississippi Seven Bluegrass band, led by Hastings-Prescott Area Arts Council member Pete Rivard, is a musical group "full of colorful characters who play a mix of old-time, rock, folk and original music," according to the arts council, which is organizing the event.
Also performing will be the River Valley Band from the Hastings area and the Rosemount Community Band.
The show is from 6 to 8 p.m. under the west picnic shelter. Food and drinks will be offered by the Gourmet Solutions food truck.
Spring Lake Park Reserve is at 8395 E. 127th St., along the Mississippi River northwest of Hastings.

Kelley Park concert series to wrap up
The final concert of the Music in Kelley Park series is already here.
A free show presented by the MacPhail Center for Music will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at the park, 6855 Fortino St.
Food and beverages will be available, and drawings will be held for bicycles and a guitar.

Latin theme at this week's MarketFest
Eagan's weekly MarketFest will take on a Hispanic theme this week, with salsa dancing and Latino music.
The market, held every Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Eagan Festival Grounds, 1501 Central Pkwy., includes more than 50 farmers market vendors.
This week, music will be courtesy of the groups Ticket to Brazil and K-Libre 24. Jazz 88.5 FM's Gracie Mendez will be the emcee, and the program will also include folk dancers, a kids' art project and more.
