Actor David Hyde-Pierce will stop by the Guthrie Theater next month for a conversation with Joe Dowling. Hyde-Pierce, a member of the acting company in 1983-86, will trade quips and insights with Dowling on March 13, a Sunday, starting at 7 p.m.

Hyde-Pierce recently completed a Broadway run of "La Bête," which included Guthrie regular Sally Wingert in the cast. He's best known for his work on the TV sitcom "Frasier," but his stage work is really more impressive. He won a 2007 Tony for "Curtains" and originated the role of Sir Robin in Monty Python's "Spamalot" in 2005.

Recently, he hosted Stephen Sondheim's birthday concert at the New York Philharmonic — along with Bernadette Peters, Mandy Patinkin and Patti LuPone.
