TWIN CITIES MARATHON/TC 10-Mile

When: Sunday. 10-mile race starts at 7 a.m., marathon starts at 8 a.m.

Where: Starts near U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, ends near State Capitol in St. Paul.

Weather: Forecast calls for sunny and low 50s at the start. Average high temperature is 62, average low is 42. Record high for Oct. 9 is 86 and record low is 22.

Entries: Marathon 11,500; TC 10 Mile 10,900.

Marathon purse: $75,600. Winners get $10,000.

Marathon top seeds, men: Dominic Ondoro, 29, Kenya, defending champion, personal record 2 hours, 8 minutes (2013); Elisha Barno, 31, Kenya, last year's runner-up and winner of the past two Grandma's Marathons, PR 2:10:38 (2015).

Marathon top seeds, women: Serkalem Abrha, 29, Ethiopia, defending champion, PR 2:31:40 (2015 Twin Cities); Jane Kibii, 31, Kenya, runner-up last year by four seconds in PR 2:31:44, won 2015 Grandma's Marathon; Sarah Kiptoo, 26, Kenya, 2016 Grandma's champion, PR 2:26:32 (2013 Grandma's course record).

Marathon records: 2:10:05, Phil Coppess, 1985; women, 2:26:51, Zinaida Semenova, 2001, and Irina Permitina, 2004.

TC 10-mile purse: (U.S. national championship) $81,000. Winners get $12,000. There is a $10,000 equalizer bonus to the male or female USATF 10M champion who finishes first; women get 5:43 head start.

TC 10-mile favorite, men: Sam Chelanga, 31, became a U.S. citizen last year. He is the defending champion in a PR of 46:47 and was sixth in the 10,000 at U.S. Olympic trials.

TC 10-mile favorite, women: Aliphine Tuliamuk, 27, became a U.S. citizen in April. Leads USATF road racing circuit after winning 25K, 20K and 5K titles this year. PR 52 minutes, 16 seconds.

10-mile defending champions: Chelanga, 46:47; Molly Huddle, 51:44 (American record).

10-mile course records: Abdi Abdirahman, 46:35, 2009; Huddle.
