"The leaves are still pretty nice at Whitewater State Park. The maples were really brilliant a couple weeks ago. It went really fast, they peaked quicker this year. But the oaks are starting to turn just now. They should be peaking for MEA weekend, and the park should be really pretty with all the oaks and later hardwoods in full color. For families with kids, I would recommend hiking the Chimney Rock Trail. It's short, just a 45-minute hike. And it has a beautiful overlook, where you can view the valley below and surrounding bluffs from various angles so you should still see some nice colors from up there."
