The Ting Tings could be the next big thing from England, thanks to a tune featured in the latest iPod commercial. The cheerily uptempo "Shut Up and Let Me Go" is as cheesy as a Farfisa organ but irresistibly catchy and deliciously retro, with just enough snotty hip-hop to feel current. Think "Modern Love" Bowie meets a rapping Gwen Stefani with a British accent. The rest of the male/female duo's album, "We Started Nothing" (out Tuesday), is similarly cheeky indie pop, featuring Katie White's saucy, sing-songy raps and spare new-wave sounds. The Ting Tings' "That's Not My Name," which sounds like Toni Basil trying to be a British b-girl, went to No. 1 in England last month so there could be life beyond an iPod jingle.
