Education: Graduate of the Harvard School of Public Health; Yale Medical School; residency in internal medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Background: An epidemiologist by trade, Mostashari joined the Office of National Coordinator for Health IT in 2009 as deputy national coordinator for programs and policy; before that he was assistant commissioner for New York City's Department of Health and Mental Hygiene, where more than 1,500 providers in underserved communities adopted health IT tools aimed at preventing illnesses.
