The Eagles edged Denver on Sunday afternoon and thus are only a half-game behind the Vikings.

The Vikings will enter Monday night's game at Chicago feeling some big-time pressure from the Philadelphia Eagles. The Eagles blew a 17-point second-half lead against Denver on Sunday but won with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter on a David Akers field goal.

What that means is the Eagles are now a half-game behind the Vikings in the NFC with an 11-4 record. The Vikings are 11-3 and if Minnesota slips up on Monday night it will mean that not only are the two tied in terms of their records but the Eagles actually will have bypassed the Vikings for the second seed because they own the tie-breaker.

So if the Vikings and Eagles both finish at 12-4 for the season, the Eagles will get the second seed and the first weekend of the playoffs off and the Vikings will have a home game in the wild card round.

Of course, if the Vikings sweep the Bears and Giants to end the season they won't have to worry about any of this and can still actually grab the top seed. To put it as simple as possible, the Vikings can finish seeded anywhere from first to fourth at this point.
