Hazardous material incident. Police responded to a report of solvent spilled outside Memorial Lutheran Church, 15730 Afton Blvd. Lower St. Croix Valley Fire Department took care of the spill.
LAKE ELMO
JUNE 1
Fishing complaint. Two men and one woman fishing on Lake Olson reportedly caught a big bass and put it in their livewell rather than release it. An officer checked on the group who said they knew they were on a catch-and-release lake and they initially kept the fish for photos but later put it back in the water.
LAKELAND SHORES
JUNE 2
Personal watercraft complaint. Police were unable to locate two people on a personal watercraft reportedly driving recklessly in a no-wake zone on the St. Croix River south of the Hudson Bridge.
MAY TOWNSHIP
JUNE 1
Loose buffalo. An officer helped the owner of a herd of buffalo get them back into a fenced area on 170th Street west of Parade Avenue.
JUNE 6
Helicopter complaint. Police checked on a report of a helicopter hovering near Big Carnelian Lake. An officer saw the helicopter flying near the lake and eventually landing on a property in the 12000 block of Panama Avenue. No illegal activity was observed.
OAKDALE
JUNE 7
Juvenile complaint. An officer was dispatched to Walton Park, 1500 Hadley Av., on a report of a large group of high school kids yelling and acting like they might fight. The officer located the youths who explained they were just hanging out. One admitted being upset and yelling. No criminal activity was observed.
SCANDIA
JUNE 4
Suspicious activity. Cigarette butts were found outside windows and vehicles at a residence in the 14000 block of Oakhill Road. The homeowner told police they'd noticed this kind of activity before being burglarized in the past.
STILLWATER TOWNSHIP
JUNE 1
Nuisance complaint. Two people were issued written warnings for drinking beer on the beach of Little Carnelian Lake at Stillwater Township Park.

Bicycle theft. A silver and black Mongoose bike worth $200 was stolen from a yard in the 300 block of Warner Avenue.
WOODBURY
JUNE 1
Smoke complaint. Police received a complaint about smoke from a back yard fire in the 6700 block of Sherwood Circle getting into neighboring homes. Police spoke with the man burning brush and he agreed to put out the fire.
Suspicious activity. Two men sitting at a table at Edgewater Park, 3100 Edgewater Dr., were reported smoking from a glass bottle with hoses hooked up to it. An officer located the men, who said they were smoking a hookah pipe and verified the tobacco was legal. They were told there is no smoking in the park.
JUNE 4
Cyclist impeding traffic. A man on a bike crossing Radio Drive at Lake Road stopped in front of a vehicle partially in the crosswalk and refused to move. He had run his bike into the vehicle when the driver wouldn't back up. An officer arrived and explained how the cyclist might have handled the situation .
Neighbor complaint. Police investigated a complaint in the 3000 block of Devonshire Drive about a neighbor's three dogs defecating on their own deck in violation of a city ordinance. The ordinance states that all animal waste must be cleaned daily. An officer contacted the neighbor and observed feces on the deck but was unable to determine if an ordinance was violated.
