Fall is an incredible time of the year to fish walleyes up at Lake of the Woods and the Rainy River. As the leaves are turning and the migration is taking place overhead, walleyes are very active, transitioning to their favorite fall areas and putting on the feed bag for the upcoming winter. Emerald shiners are running in the Rainy River with thousands of walleyes close behind. Some anglers bring their own boats while others simply step aboard with a guide or on a charter boat targeting huge schools of walleyes that Lake of the Woods is famous for. It is fall up on Lake of the Woods and memories are being made.
