For one week each summer, the 17 nonprofit, private colleges and universities of the Minnesota Private College Council invite high school students and their families to stop in. Information sessions will be held twice daily.
This year, the council is encouraging families to "Explore More Colleges."
"That's because our evaluations from last year found that 43 percent of students said afterward that they wished that they had visited one more college, versus the only 1 percent who said they had scheduled one too many," said spokesman John Manning.
So far, the message seems to be working. Manning said that the average student has registered for 2.2 colleges, compared to 1.7 for last year's attendees.
Register here. The week runs June 25 to 29.
