Pedal to the metal

The annual Dennis Kirk Donnie Smith Bike Show boasts to be the largest custom vehicle show in the Midwest. Considered to be the kickoff to the riding and cruising season, speedsters compete at the "War of the Twins II" indoor flat track races at the State Fairgrounds. The weekend continues with a bike and car extravaganza in a family-friendly environment showcasing 35 classes of custom motorcycles and 16 classes of cars. Chrome enthusiasts can shop at the largest swap meet on the planet, visit the tattoo expo and enjoy entertainment. (Flat track races: 7-10 p.m. today. $15-$25.
