BLACK BEARS, OH MY!
Minnesota's largest omnivores will take up residence at the Minnesota Zoo's Medtronic Minnesota Trail. Three orphaned black bears will have a new home complete with trees for climbing, a pool and natural vegetation. Guests can view from a den and a cabin for an up-close look. WILD RICE FESTIVAL
A family-friendly celebration of Indian culture, wild rice and fall in Minnesota. The day begins with a fundraising pancake breakfast, featuring wild rice pancakes and sausage. As the event continues, entertainment includes American Indian dancers, demonstrations and activities. Staff from the Gibbs Museum of Pioneer and Dakotah Life will make presentations, share games and craft activities. Learn how to harvest honey and make fresh cider from an apple press.
