With a goal of drawing more fans to games during its first season in Major League Soccer, Minnesota United FC is offering season-ticket price options that make nearly a third of its seats available for under $20 per match.

The club released ticket pricing Thursday for the 2017 season, which begins in March. Home matches will be played at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium, where 82 percent of seats will cost less than $30 per game if purchased as season tickets. About 32 percent of seats will be available for less than $20 a match. Season-ticket prices start as low as $18 per match.

The lower bowl of the stadium will be sold for all United home matches, with a soccer capacity of 21,895 seats. For select matches, United will open the entire stadium. Deposits for more than 9,000 season tickets have been taken.

"It is important to us that our gameday experience remains accessible to all our fans, and the pricing we are announcing today reflects that priority,'' United President Nick Rogers said in a news release. "Being a part of our inaugural season in Major League Soccer is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we cannot wait for our fans to pack the stadium and support our club."

Fans can choose from 12 season-ticket price categories, which fluctuate based on date of purchase. Current season-ticket packages start as low as $335 for an 18-match schedule — or just over $18 per match — to $2,790 for the lower club level. Seating options range from a passionate supporters section behind the east goal to an exclusive student section available to Minnesota college students, and family-friendly options.

In addition to the supporters section, United will offer a variety of premium seating options, including 14-plus-person suites, four- to six-person loge boxes, the pitchside club and more.

The club plans to play all of the 2017 and part of the 2018 season in Minneapolis before moving into its new stadium in St. Paul.
