Beauty school

Former Smart & Chic Beauty Lounge proprietress and makeup artist Julie Swenson has launched her own beauty-learning annex and boutique, Julie Swenson Beauty. The annex will be a haven of education for students, seasoned artists, bridal parties and everyday women. Swenson will also offer beauty consultations and makeup applications, and will continue to carry some of her Smart & Chic product lines such as Tokyo Milk, Love and Toast, Sara Happ and Jouer Cosmetics, as well as her own eye essentials line, Stella.

Bamboo tees

Twin Cities native Annie Larson made waves with her colorful, '90s-evoking knit sweaters and pompom-topped hats. Now the designer, who moved to Brooklyn last year, is launching her first line of lightweight bamboo tees. The colorful, striped knit tops are the perfect wear-into-summer piece: loose-fitting, slightly cropped and perfectly breezy.
