Well, Brett Favre's streak ends at 297 regular season games and 321, including playoffs. He's inactive for tonight's game against the Giants at Detroit.

In a perfect world, Favre would have kept the streak intact until walking off the field in Dallas as a two-time Super Bowl champion. But if anything, this season is a reminder the world isn't perfect.

Now that the streak is over, there's no reason to start Favre the rest of the year. So let's get a long look at Tarvaris Jackson to see if he's any better than he was when he last started 23 months ago.

As for Favre, hey, it's still the greatest streak of longevity in the history of sports. Just because he came within four games of finishing his career with the streak intact isn't that big of a deal in the grand scheme of a 20-year career.

Now that the game has started and it's official, here's a stat for ya: T-Jack is 2-0 with a 106.0 passer rating in two starts against the Giants.

T-Jack should start the final three games against Chicago (wherever the game is played), at Philly and at Detroit against the Lions.
