MILWAUKEE — A Catholic high school teacher in Milwaukee has pleaded not guilty to charges that she sexually assaulted two male students.

Twenty-eight-year-old Megan C. Garland has been suspended from her job as a science teacher at Messmer High School. Online court records say she pleaded not guilty Wednesday to two charges of second-degree sexual assault of a child.

She's accused of having sex with a 14-year-old student in a school parking lot, and groping a 15-year-old after he asked her for a ride home.

A message left for her defense attorney, Alex Flynn, wasn't immediately returned Wednesday. During a previous hearing he argued that allegations reported to police weren't enough to prosecute Garland.

A final pre-trial hearing was set for September, with a jury trial scheduled for late October.
