FinnStyle will celebrate sustainable living at a "green Midsummer party" Tuesday. Experts from the Finnish community will discuss a range of green topics: Automotive consultant Jukka Kukkonen will talk about the electric-car movement; architect David Salmela will share insights about green home design, and autograph copies of a new book about his work; and FinnStyle owner Ben Horn will discuss how Finnish manufacturers demonstrate their concern for nature. The event, which includes refreshments, takes place from 5 to 7 p.m. June 21 at FinnStyle, 160 Glenwood Av., Minneapolis.

Get tips on installing a natural stone patio or retaining wall at Gertens Nursery. Experts will demonstrate all the steps needed to plan, install and maintain natural stone landscape features. The class is scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at Gertens, 5500 Blaine Av., Inver Grove Heights.

The house is closed for the season, but Bachman's is holding a "yard sale" featuring many of the items displayed in the house, including one-of-a-kind vintage finds, wicker-wrapped glassware, glass birdbaths and feeders, and succulent planters.
