Still needing to fill at least three more rosters spots, the Timberwolves auditioned a smattering of free agents Wednesday morning in a workout that included many of their signed players now that training camp is little more than two weeks away.

The list included players such as power forwards Thomas Robinson and Perry Jones, shooter Anthony Morrow, point guards Trey Burke and Isaiah Canaan as well as Minnesotans Alan Anderson and Matt Janning.

A former De La Salle High School star, Anderson, 34, has played eight NBA seasons with Charlotte, Toronto, Brooklyn, Washington and the L.A. Clippers. A 6-5 shooter from Watertown, Minn., Janning, 29, has played the last six seasons in Italy, Croatia, Turkey, Israel and Russia after started the 2010-12 NBA season with Phoenix and played most of that season in the D League.

The Wolves have pursued free agents Dante Cunningham, Tony Allen and their own Shabazz Muhammad, among others, but haven't yet reached agreements with anyone. Unless they make additional personnel moves, the Wolves have no salary-cap room and can only sign players now to league minimum contracts.

They brought in Wednesday's group of free agents with the clock ticking on training camp's start Sept. 23 in San Diego, Calif.

The Wolves could invite some of Wednesday's free-agent group to camp if they can't sign anyone know and use camp and a two-game trip to China to pick their final players.

Many of the team's 11 players signed to guaranteed contracts and free agents signed to training-camp invitations have arrived in town for workouts. Among the players not on the floor Wednesday morning were veterans Jimmy Butler and Taj Gibson as well as Andrew Wiggins and Gorgui Dieng.

Wiggins is expected to sign a five-year, $148 million maximum contract before the Oct. 18 season opener.
