The former Visitation High School coach charged with sexually assaulting a student was charged Thursday in Hennepin County with a felony for violating a restraining order by contacting the girl.

Daniel Erik Hubbard Wilson, 27, was arrested Nov. 26 after he allegedly appeared outside the girl's therapy session. He was charged Monday with a misdemeanor by the Minneapolis city attorney's office, but that case was dismissed Wednesday so the county attorney's office could file the felony charge.

Wilson was charged via summons, and is not in custody.

According to the complaint: After the girl left her therapy session in Minneapolis, her counselor exited the building and noticed her car in the parking lot. The counselor was concerned, and checked inside the building for the girl. Unable to locate her, the counselor drove around to the back of the building where the girl and Wilson sat in Wilson's car. The counselor called police.

Wilson posted bond Saturday in the Nov. 26 incident. He appeared in Ramsey County District Court Monday in the rape case involving the girl, and was jailed when his original $20,000 bail was raised to $50,000 because of the new Hennepin County case.

Wilson posted bond Monday afternoon on the Ramsey County bail. His first appearance in Hennepin County on the new felony charge is scheduled for Jan. 8.

Attorneys representing the girl and her family have said that Wilson has repeatedly received low bail despite prosecutors' arguments for a sum as high as $100,000, and mounting evidence that Wilson has no regard for the law.

Wilson was charged in early October in Ramsey County with first-degree criminal sexual conduct, commonly referred to as rape, and third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly assaulting the girl when she was 15. He coached the girl, now 17, at school and also worked as her private coach.

The girl's father filed a harassment restraining order against Wilson in September. In late October, Wilson was charged in Ramsey County with a felony for violating the restraining order by allegedly tricking the girl into following him on social media and then meeting with her.

Wilson also allegedly tried to convince the girl to change information that led to the rape case against him, according to the Ramsey County charge filed in late October.
