Shaffer Holum scored at 12 minutes, 39 seconds to pull Grand Rapids to within one goal and Avery Peterson tied the score 1:12 later when he carried the puck wide, cut in front of the net and flipped the puck off Eden Prairie goalie Jake Gerdes. Grand Rapids, which lost to Edina 6-2 Thursday, converted on three of six power-play opportunities.
• EDINA 4, ELK RIVER 1: The Hornets led 2-0 after two periods on goals by Tyler Nanne and Cullen Munson, but Elk River cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by Wyatt Ege at 3:25 of the third period. Edina, which outshot Elk River 30-16, sealed the victory with two goals in the final 1:10.
• BENILDE-ST. MARGARET'S 6, DULUTH MARSHALL 1: Playing perhaps their most complete game of the season, the defending Class 2A champion Red Knights leaned on a superstar and a fresh face to hand the Hilltoppers their second loss in three games. Senior forward Grant Besse notched his first hat trick of the season -- his fourth consecutive game with two or more goals -- and goalie Andrew Sprang, in his first season at Benilde after playing junior hockey last year -- turned aside 37 shots. Junior forward Spencer Naas chipped in with two goals and two assists, giving him a team-high 18 points through seven games.
