St. Croix Lutheran overcame a late rally to get a 6-5 walkoff victory over Mounds Park Academy on Friday in baseball.
The Crusaders scored in each of the first four innings to take a 5-1 lead. The Panthers scored two runs in each of the final two innings to tie the score 5-5.
Taishi Aizawa struck out seven for the Crusaders and also had three stolen bases and scored twice.
Skyler Burnett had two RBI and Luke Sonka struck out seven in 4⅔ innings for the Panthers.
Minneapolis South 2, Minneapolis Washburn 0 (8): Gavyn Schacher drove in two runs in the top of the eighth inning to give the Tigers the win over the host Millers. Sam Cooper pitched a perfect three innings with seven strikeouts for the Tigers. Holden Genrich struck out eight in seven innings and Andrew Gotziaman had two hits for the Millers.
Cooper 6, Park Center 5: The Hawks scored three runs in the sixth inning to defeat the visiting Pirates. Parker Rislov struck out six in seven innings and had two RBI to lead the Hawks, Elijah Enna had a double, one RBI and two runs scored. Connor McNamer and Chase Oxborough had two hits and one RBI each for the Pirates.
Chaska 5, Chanhassen 2: The Hawks scored five runs in the sixth and seventh innings to defeat the host Storm. Karver Miller had two hits, two RBI and one run scored, Nolan Kemp had three RBI and one run scored for the Hawks. Cole VanHolland hit a solo home run for the Storm.
Softball
Red Wing 2, Rochester Century 1: Kennedy Knopp had two doubles, one RBI and one run scored to lead the Wingers past the visiting Panthers. Amira Ramstad struck out 10 in seven innings for the Wingers. Morgan Erickson had 10 strikeouts over six innings for the Panthers.
