Towns, Edwards make winning pair

Wolves update: The Wolves got Karl-Anthony Towns back from a two-game absence and beat the Heat on Friday night at Target Center after getting blown out in the two games without him. The Wolves got some bench help from Naz Reid (16 points) and Jarred Vanderbilt (14 rebounds). … The Wolves are 3-2 in the past five games Towns and D'Angelo Russell have played together. … Russell has yet to play more than 28:48 in any game as he is still on a minutes restriction after left knee surgery. … Anthony Edwards had 12 points against Miami, his lowest point total since March 26.

Clippers update: The Clippers beat the Wolves twice in their two meetings this season, including a 23-point win at Staples Center on Dec. 29. … Kawhi Leonard has not played the past four games because of a foot injury and is questionable. Serge Ibaka (back) is out. … Paul George returned to the lineup Friday from an illness and had 37 points. It was his fifth straight game of scoring 30 or more. … Guard Patrick Beverley will miss the game as he recovers from hand surgery.
