Gameday preview: Wolves at New York

December 2, 2016 at 7:23AM

Preview: This is the second of back-to-back games vs. the Knicks. Down 17 early in the fourth quarter, the Wolves rallied to tie the Knicks twice in the final minute Wednesday but ultimately lost for the third consecutive time. The home game was a showcase for the top two players taken in the 2015 draft. Wolves center Karl-Anthony Towns had 47 points and 18 rebounds while the Knicks' Kristaps Porzingis had 29 points and eight rebounds.

Players to watch: Wolves G Zach LaVine has averaged 25.3 points over his past three games. F Andrew Wiggins scored 19 while holding Knicks scorer Carmelo Anthony to 14 points. Anthony did, however, hit the game-winning shot. G Brandon Jennings and F Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored in double figures as the Knicks bench outscored the Wolves reserves 43-5.

Injuries: Wolves G/F Brandon Rush (toe) is questionable. Knicks G Courtney Lee (ankle) and C Joakim Noah (ankle) are questionable. G/F Lance Thomas (ankle) is out.
