Preview: This will be Game 1 of G Malik Beasley's 12-game suspension. Options to take his place in the starting lineup include Jarrett Culver, Jaylen Nowell and Josh Okogie. F Anthony Edwards is coming off a 21-point, nine-rebound, six-assist performance in the Wolves' overtime loss in Chicago on Wednesday. It was his ninth game with 20 or more points. C Karl-Anthony Towns has averaged 22.7 points and 9.9 rebounds and shot 53.8% in nine February games. The past three games between these two teams have been decided by 20 or more points, and the Wolves are 1-2 in those games. That includes a 21-point loss to Washington at Target Center on Jan. 1. The Wolves also will be without D'Angelo Russell (knee surgery).
Washington update: The Wizards have won six of their past seven games, including an impressive 112-110 victory in Denver on Thursday. G Bradley Beal leads the NBA in scoring at 32.8 points per game. He has scored 33 or more points in six of his past eight games. He scored 31 in Washington's victory at Minnesota Jan. 1. G Russell Westbrook did not play in that game. He is averaging 19.7 points, 9.7 rebounds and 9.7 assists. The Wizards will be without C Thomas Bryant (knee) and G Ish Smith (quad).
