Gameday: Wolves at Memphis

April 2, 2011 at 3:22AM

Preview: The Grizzlies, several steps ahead of the Timberwolves in the rebuilding process, have themselves aimed for the playoffs and the West's No. 7 or 8 seeds. After winning at New Orleans 93-81 on Friday night, Memphis has a 43-33 record even though $80 million-plus man Rudy Gay hasn't played since February and is out for the rest of the season. Memphis has won three in a row and six of seven. ... Memphis has won six of the last seven meetings between the teams, including all three this season: The Grizzlies won 102-84 and 104-95 at Target Center in February and 109-89 in Memphis in season's third game back in October.

Players to watch: Zach Randolph looked like he was trying to prove that he, and not Kevin Love, deserved an All-Star invitation the last time these teams played. Randolph delivered a 24-point, 10-rebound, five-assist performance five weeks ago. He leads the Grizzlies with a 20.0 point scoring average and a career-high 12.4 rebounds and was named the West's Player of the Month in January.

Injuries: Rudy Gay (shoulder) and Xavier Henry (knee) are out and Jason Williams (back soreness) is questionable.
